Debbie has a passion for making hand-built organic forms, mainly vessels. For the several years she focused on making teapots (some would say, indeed many did, she was obsessed). However she has developed her work into more organic forms, which incorporate long stems (spouts) and have a distinctly anatomical feel about them.
Debbie works predominantly in earthenware, with occasional forays into stoneware and even porcelain, using a small palette glazes. Just recently Debbie has re-discovered burnishing and smoke-firing, with examples including small teapots. She is currently working on a series of vessels called “Hearts and Moons”.
